Transferring domains names can be an unforeseen headache (up until now!) when taking over a domain for the client. Changing the IPS TAG and this is usually a straight forward task, I have transfered quite a few domains and they have all gone very smoothly, which leads me to believe it is the person who is actioning the transfer.
My latest headache of a simple domain transfer has turned into the domain being held in redemption and a £100 fee hanging from it to get it back! So here is what happened:
This is my question. Should company two have changed at-least the administrative contact information to their company?
So when it came to my turn (company three) to pick up the domain, my domain host sent an email to the original company one (because thats the details were with the domain) to request the transfer is all ok. No reply came, resulting in the domain going into redemption.
When I eventually get the domain in my control, should I fill in the correct details for the client and use my or their email as the contact email?
AND don’t even get me started on transferring from Microsoft Business
