Office Sweepstake - Step by Step

Office Sweepstake

This is an Icon/Logo I created for OfficeSweepstake.co.uk – the brief was to create an Icon that was slightly ‘cartoony’ but professional and to capture the essense of an Office Sweepstake.

Office Sweepstake Sketches

I began trying to think of how you play the Office Sweepstake and what people do to play and keep track of money and results in the classic way rather than by a computer.

We settled on the concept and progressed with sketching out various types of mugs, pens, pencils, coins etc.

Office Sweepstake Sketches

We chose a sturdy ‘standard’ mug to try and show stability and trust, and thought the classic Biro and HB pencil would be best suited as it is standard in most offices.

The process from start to finish was a joy to work on and let me be creative with my thoughts and ideas.

Very nice, Oliver! You must spend a hell of a lot of time using Illustrator! Great that you also managed to agree the full concept with the client, before entering artworking stage.

Lovely little icon, Oli. I love the subtle movement lines on the flipped coin to suggest some motion as well.

Its always inspiring to see the behind-the-scene thoughts taken place and all the old sketches that didn’t quite make it.

    Got any more lined up?

Thanks for the kind words, I really like these kind of articles too, and hope there are many more in the future.
